Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Waffuru, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
Description of Service
Waffuru is a Japanese language learning application that uses spaced repetition to help users study flashcards. The service includes web and mobile applications for studying vocabulary, kanji, radicals, and kana.
Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and promptly update it if anything changes. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Subscriptions and Payments
Waffuru may offer free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled in accordance with the policies of the payment processor (Stripe).
Intellectual Property
Waffuru's application code, design, and branding are proprietary. The Japanese language data used in Waffuru is sourced from open-source projects including JMdict, KANJIDIC, RADKFILE/KRADFILE, and KanjiVG, each used under their respective licenses. See the About page for full attributions.
User Content
You retain ownership of any content you create within Waffuru, such as custom flashcards and study notes. By using the service, you grant Waffuru a limited license to store and display your content solely to provide the service to you.
Prohibited Use
You agree not to misuse the service, including but not limited to: attempting to gain unauthorized access to systems or data, using the service to distribute malicious software, scraping or bulk downloading content, interfering with the service's operation, or using the service for any unlawful purpose.
Limitation of Liability
Waffuru is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that learning outcomes will be achieved. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Waffuru shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the profile settings. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice within the application. Your continued use of Waffuru after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
