Data Deletion Policy

We respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains what data we store, how you can request its deletion, and what happens when your data is deleted.
What Data We Store
When you use Waffuru, we store the following data associated with your account:
- Account information (email address, display name)
- Study preferences and settings
- Flashcard review history and spaced repetition scheduling data
- Custom flashcards you have created
- Study queue and collection subscriptions
- Study statistics and progress data
- Subscription and billing status (payment details are held by Stripe)
How to Request Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data in two ways:
- In-app: Go to your Profile page and use the "Delete Account" button. You will be asked to confirm before deletion proceeds.
- By email: Send a request to support@waffuru.com from the email address associated with your account.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your user account and authentication credentials
- All study progress, review history, and scheduling data
- Custom flashcards and study notes
- Study preferences, queue, and collection subscriptions
- Study statistics
If you have an active subscription through our website (Stripe), it will be automatically canceled upon account deletion. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, your subscription will not be automatically canceled — you must cancel it through your device's subscription settings to stop future charges. Any payment history held by Stripe is subject to Stripe's own data retention policies.
Deletion Timeline
In-app account deletion is processed immediately. Email requests are processed within 30 days of receipt. Once deletion is complete, your data cannot be recovered.
