Introducing Collections
Ordered study paths to guide your Japanese learning journey
February 10, 2026 · Waffuru Team
Collections are here: ordered sets of flashcards organized around specific themes, textbooks, or learning goals. Studying for the JLPT? Working through Genki? Focused on food vocabulary? Collections give you a structured path to follow.
How Collections Work
Each collection is an ordered sequence of cards that feeds into your study session alongside your existing deck. When you subscribe to a collection, its cards are queued up and introduced according to your daily new card limit. Cards from collections are prioritized after your search queue but before the master deck, so you stay in control of what you learn first.
Creating Your Own
Premium users can create and share their own collections. Search for cards, arrange them in your preferred order, and publish for the community. You can also keep collections private for personal use.
- Subscribe to community-created collections
- Cards fit right into your study sessions
- Prerequisite injection still works: radicals and kanji are introduced before words that use them
- Create and share your own collections (premium)
